Earlier today, the Chief Minister announced the new line-up for the Sarawak State Cabinet.

This is the first major re-shuffle of the cabinet since the State elections in April.

Highlights:

1. Creation of a new ministry – Ministry of Welfare, Women & Family Development

2. Renaming of Ministry of Social Development and Urbanisation to Ministry of Social Development

3. Renaming of Ministry of Environment & Public Health to Ministry of Local Government & Community Development

4. Renaming of Ministry of Planning & Resources Management to Ministry of Resource Planning & Environment

5. Renaming of Ministry of Housing & Urban Development to Ministry of Housing

6. Renaming of Ministry of Tourism & Heritage to Ministry of Tourism
